Providing Mealtime Assistance
Course Description
Alarmingly, a large number of aged care residents are either malnourished or at risk of malnutrition as many older people face challenges with consuming meals independently due to physical limitations, cognitive impairments, or other health issues.
This course offers strategies to make resident’s mealtime as dignified and as seamless as possible thus promoting physical health and social well-being and contributing to their overall quality of life in a care setting.
Older people in your care may require support with eating and drinking. This course will demonstrate how staff can provide mealtime assistance safely whilst enabling the older person to enjoy their mealtime experience.
